The Faculty Handbook specifies the status, rights, and responsibilities of the faculty of Loyola University New Orleans University. Separate sections of the Handbook are devoted to academic freedom and responsibility; appointment and reappointment; tenure and promotion; governance; fringe benefits; and other relevant policies. Appendices include the university's Charter and Bylaws and Intellectual Property Rights Policies and Procedures.

The following revisions in the Faculty Handbook were approved by the University Faculty Handbook Revision Committee, the University Senate and the Board of Trustees during the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Entire Handbook - Change all "&" to "and".

The following revisions in the Faculty Handbook were approved by the University Faculty Handbook Revision Committee and the University Senate in Fall 2009. On May 14, 2010, the Board of Trustees approved the revisions.

The following revisions to the Faculty Handbook were approved by the University Faculty Handbook Revision Committee and the University Senate in Fall 2007. The revisions were approved by Board of Trustees on May 16, 2008
Library Faculty (Chapter 11) is replaced in its entirety with revisions developed by the University Library faculty and the College of Law faculty.
