College of Arts & Sciences:

Louisiana Culture Care Fund Grants

The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities (LEH), with the support of the state of Louisiana, is offering grants to cover general operating expenses for humanities-based organizations operating within the sixty-four parishes of Louisiana. The term “humanities” includes, but is not limited to, the study and interpretation of the following: language, both modern and classical; linguistics; literature; history; jurisprudence; philosophy; archaeology; comparative religion; ethics; the history, criticism, and theory of the arts; those aspects of the social sciences which have humanistic content and employ humanistic methods; and the study and application of the humanities to the human environment with particular attention to reflecting our diverse heritage, traditions, and history and to the relevance of the humanities to the current conditions of national life.

Climate Change and Human Health Seed Grants

The Burroughs Wellcome Fund aims to stimulate the growth of new connections between thinkers working in largely disconnected fields who might together change the course of climate change’s impact on human health. In the three years between Fall 2023 and Summer 2026, the foundation will dedicate $1M to supporting small, early stage grants of $2,500–$50,000 toward achieving this goal. The Burroughs Wellcome Fund is interested in activities that build connections between basic/early biomedical scientific approaches and ecological, environmental, geological, geographic, and planetary-scale thinking, as well as with population-focused fields, including epidemiology and public health, demography, economics, and urban planning. Also of interest is work piloting new approaches or interactions toward reducing the impact of health-centered activities, such as developing more sustainable systems for health care, care delivery, and biomedical research systems.

Citi Foundation Grant 

The Citi Foundation works to promote economic progress and improve the lives of people in low-income communities around the world. The foundation invests in efforts that increase financial inclusion, catalyze job opportunities for youth, and reimagine approaches to building economically vibrant communities. The Citi Foundation's "More than Philanthropy" approach leverages the enormous expertise of Citi and its people to fulfill its mission and drive thought leadership and innovation.

The Lemelson Foundation

The Lemelson Foundation invests in helping young people become inventors and in helping inventors change the world. To spur invention in the 21st century, we fund programs and projects in invention education and entrepreneurship as solutions to a better future.

Our Initiatives:

  • Entrepreneurship - Supporting ecosystems for invention-based businesses from incubation to market
  • Ecosystems - Fostering regional invention ecosystems for stronger economies

College of Law & Law Clinic:

Public Welfare Foundation 

Public Welfare Foundation awards grants to nonprofits that honor the Foundation’s core values of racial equity, economic well-being, and fundamental fairness for all. The Foundation looks for strategic points where its funds can make a significant difference and improve lives through policy and system reform that results in transformative change.

Deadline: Rolling

Grant Amount: $50,000-$150,000

 

Chatlos Foundation

Grants to organizations involved in social concerns total 4% of distribution. History has shown that grants in this category range in size from $2,000 to $5,000. This category encompasses secular community programs which provide direct services such as child welfare, vocational training, prison alternatives, concerns for the aged and disabled, and men, women and families in crisis.

Grants to liberal arts colleges total 7% of Foundation distribution. History has shown that grants in this category range in size from $2,500 to $7,500. Priority consideration is given to private colleges.

Standard Corporate Giving Program & Charitable Foundation

Fund Arts and cultural organizations play a major role in vibrant communities. We support organizations that offer multicultural art programs and provide enhanced access for the underserved. Specifically, we encourage programs that build audiences and promote the arts through education, interactive media, and artistic excellence.

Journalism and Media Grant

The Journalism and Media Grant program seeks to promote and amplify just and inclusive news and narratives, based on the belief that accurate and compelling media play an important role in informing, engaging, and activating individuals and groups to take part in democratic practices and processes. To build and strengthen organizations creating and disseminating just, accurate, and inclusive news and narratives, the program supports work in professional nonprofit reporting, nonfiction multimedia storytelling, and participatory civic media

College of Nursing & Health

Medical Education Contributions: Sanofi US Educational Grants

Funds educational activities and materials designed to improve the knowledge, competence (skill) and/or performance of healthcare professionals, patients, and/or consumers for improved patient care and outcomes.

Pioneering Ideas Brief Proposal: Pioneering Ideas and a Culture of Health, Robert Wood Johnson

Challenge assumptions or long-held cultural practices. Take an existing idea and give it a new spin—or a novel application. Offer a new take or perspective on a long-running, perplexing problem. Apply cutting-edge ideas from other fields to health. Explore the potential for emerging trends to impact our ability to build a Culture of Health.
