Eva Knowles graduated with her bachelors at Loyola in Sociology in Spring of 2023. She studied abroad in Vigo, Spain in 2021-2022 and was later selected for three nationally-competitive awards:

  • In 2023, she was awarded a Critical Language Scholarship for her study of Portuguese language in Brazil. CLS is a highly selective language learning opportunity sponsored by the Department of State for American college and university students to learn languages essential to the United States' engagement with the world (clscholarship.org).
  • In 2023-2024, she received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship. She served as a cultural ambassador and international educator by planning and facilitating English grammar, intercultural, and conversational lessons for twenty hours per week to about 500 students at a public secondary school in rural Galicia, Spain. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for U.S. graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals and artists to study, conduct research, and/or teach English abroad.
