Advising - Undergraduates/Graduates (if required by your program)

Advising begins on Monday, October 24, 2022. Schedule an appointment with your advisor as soon as possible. Your advisor may clear you for registration so you will be able to access Loyola Online Records Access (LORA) or your advisor may register you on your appropriate day. If you cannot locate your advisor, contact your department chairperson (CAS & CNH) or your associate dean (other colleges). Law and non-degree seeking students are not required to meet with an advisor and your access will be automatically activated and you may register through LORA at your appropriate time.

You may register from any personal computer with web access. Follow the directions that were sent to you to register for your courses. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of the Registrar at (504) 865-3237 during normal business hours - Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. or email (Please note, the office will be open at 8:00 a.m. on those days noted on the timetable.)

Respondus for Online Exams

If a course uses Respondus, as shown in the blue box below the course on LORA, it means the course uses Lockdown Browser and may also use Respondus Monitor. LockDown Browser will prevent you from accessing other websites or applications; you will be unable to exit the test until all questions are completed and submitted. You should assume the course also requires the use of LockDown Monitor and a webcam for online exams. The webcam can be built into your computer or can be the type that plugs in with a USB cable. At this time, Respondus cannot be installed on Chromebooks. For more information for students, see this video.

Closed Courses & Courses Requiring Permission  - Non-law courses

  • If a course is closed you may be allowed to register with a New Seat Card. Obtain a New Seat Card from the  Office of the Registrar or from your Dean’s Office. The appropriate signatures must be obtained. Bring the form and the student copy of your signed Course Request Form with you to the Office of Student Records on or before the last day of late registration.  NOTE:  New seat cards will not be processed until the Friday before classes begin
  • To register for courses for which the instructor’s permission, there is a link within your registration portal to make this request directly to the instructor.  If the instructor approves, you will receive the approval back and you will be able to enroll.

Wait Listing A Course - READ CAREFULLY

  • Most course sections in the schedule have been created with a wait list option. If you request such a section and the section is closed, you have the option of being placed on a wait list. You are placed on the wait list in the order of your request.  NOTE: If a seat becomes available, you will receive an email stating that the course is now available.  It is up to you to enroll yourself into the course.  You will be given until midnight the following day to take care of ths enrollment.  If you fail to process the registration, you will be dropped from the class and if you want to waitlist again, you will be placed at the end of the list.

You cannot wait list for one section of a course and be registered in a different section, nor can you wait list for multiple sections of the same course, nor can you be waitlisted for a course that conflicts with another.  This will cause issues when you attempt to enroll in the class.
