Leadership Profile and Ad
Loyola University New Orleans stands among the best comprehensive universities in the south. Led by a president and a board committed to excellence and a dedicated faculty ready to welcome new leadership, Loyola seeks a Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs to lead this century-old Jesuit university whose mission is to educate students to lead meaningful lives with and for others; to pursue truth, wisdom, and virtue; and to work for a more just world.
Serving as both the university’s chief academic officer and its second ranking officer, the Provost leads university-wide strategic planning, chairs the University Budget Committee, and is responsible for leadership and oversight of the university’s academic program and intellectual life. With Loyola University entering its centennial year, nearing completion of its current strategic plan and on the threshold of developing a new one, the timing is ideal for a new chief academic officer to use this wide sphere of responsibility and influence to make a direct, personal impact on the future of this exceptional institution.
Loyola New Orleans’ next Provost will be an academic leader of vision, energy, an inclusive and empowering leadership style, and a strong commitment to the growth of both faculty and students. He or she will possess an earned terminal degree and a record of scholarship, teaching and service commensurate with appointment as a full professor. Above all, the Provost will demonstrate a commitment to the highest ideals of the university and will possess the integrity, dedication, creativity, decisiveness, exquisite judgment, generosity of spirit and courage to lead a good university to greatness.
