Short Bio

Christian L. Bolden earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Central Florida, Masters in Sociology from Texas State University-San Marcos, and Bachelors in Applied Sociology from Southwest Texas State University. In 2012-2013 Dr. Bolden was selected as the “Futurist in Residence” for the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit Futures Working Group, resulting in a white paper on “Terrorism, Gangs, and Weapons of Mass Destruction: A Futures Assessment of a Possible Nexus.”

As a recipient of a 2015 Marquette fellowship, Dr. Bolden is currently researching street culture through in-depth interviews with gang members in the Greater New Orleans area. He also studies comparative gang dynamics between groups in different regions and examines homicide trends. Dr. Bolden’s most recent activities include participation in the Modern Slavery Research Project at Loyola University New Orleans in studying human trafficking victimization.
