Our mission is to support the growth of Loyola University New Orleans through the acquisition and responsible administration of external funding from government agencies and other sponsors. Loyola's recent sponsored projects have included grants and contracts from the U.S. Department of Education (ED), the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Louisiana Office of Economic Development (LED), and the Louisiana Board of Regents (LABoR).
By securing support for initiatives that benefit the students, faculty, and larger community, this office serves to further the university's mission and enhance its national reputation. We also assist faculty with service agreements, serve as a central point of contact for R&D partnerships with industry, and help project leaders with technology transfer.
Sponsored projects support a growing range of activities:
- Faculty research
- Student research
- Industry-university partnerships
- Community service projects
- Service learning projects
- Instructional and curriculum development
- Equipment acquisition
- Growth of vital infrastructure
We provide a range of pre-award services to faculty and staff seeking sponsorship for their projects in the form of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. In addition, this office protects both project leaders and Loyola by providing post-award services and otherwise ensuring compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations for each sponsored project. Through its dual service, this office functions as an important liaison between project leaders and the upper administration.
