Short Bio

Elizabeth Rainey oversees the Student Success Center at Loyola University New Orleans. She leads university-wide programs designed to successfully guide students through their time in college, from commencement to graduation.

Since joining Loyola in 2010, Liz has developed innovative ways to enhance students’ college experiences. She created and oversees First in the PACK, a mentoring program for first-year, first-generation students. She developed and teaches classes focused on study habits and mindset strategies for students seeking to improve their GPAs. She launched a coaching program in 2017 to encourage goal setting and reflection with every first-year student.

As Director of the Student Success Center, Liz leads a collaborative team who provide a range of services for Loyola students, including academic advising, accessible education, success coaching and writing and learning resources.

Prior to joining the Loyola community, Liz was the founding college counselor at the New Orleans Charter Science and Math Academy, a charter school in New Orleans East. She also worked as an advising dean at Columbia University and in undergraduate admissions and faculty administration at New York University.
